April 24- 2nd full day of driving!

Turns out the Super Walmart in Bozeman Montana was a great place to spend a free night on the road. 

Our intention was to take a less direct route through Granite Pass. We had happened upon the Pass on a prior trip and were excited to do it again....until George checked the Highway Cam...it was a hard NO! We will save that for another time!
We chose a less snowy experience.
Thought we would head a different way and phoned an RV place in Sturgis South Dakota only to be told they had 2 feet of snow and only a 4wd would get you in the campsite and only power sites...no water or sewer. 

Another hard NO!

Thanks to wifi and Webcams, we were successful in heading in the right direction and staying put of the snow!
Always amazed at seeing these homes in the middle of nowhere, both peaceful and lonely.

Found a great little place in Kaycee Wyoming for $22.50 with Passport America, nice to relax after a full day of driving. This place is about as backwoods as it gets but it feels safe and a good place to recharge and have full hookups after 2 nights of parking lot camping!

Lu has found her favorite spot in the RV!

Left South Dakota this morning, through a part of Wyoming and into Montana. The scenery in this area is really gorgeous.  But before long the weather changed...storms up ahead and apparently through the night in Bozeman. Free night at the Walmart with about another 30  or so RV/camper vans......hoping for a quiet night...cold here tonight....used the furnace for the first time in a very long time on this trip...brrrr

Long time coming....

 It's been a very very long 2 years waiting...patiently waiting.....for things to return to normal... We were set to embark on this same holiday in March 2020 when Covid changed everything for everyone. Now 2 years later, our travel furbaby has changed. We lost our beloved Gracie before we could enjoy another big trip with her.  She was an amazing traveller and we were so fortunate to have been able to make many memories with her over the 14 years of RV adventures! We loved every minute of it and miss her dearly. And then along came Lucy Lu. Oh the adventures she will have!

June 10 - Lazy day

Today was a lazy day. As no cell service and wifi at the campground, I needed some down time to book some stuff. Found a great dog park and Lu made a new little friend... Like little....8 week old little pitti.... They had a great time and then back into town. Just like most towns outside of a National Park...there's a bear thing going on. We didn't stay long....little walking...late lunch and back to the trailer. George hitting the enormous candy store....$22.00 later.....omg Second night of firefly watching was even better than the first. We saw some Blue Ghost fireflies....the males stay lit for up to a minute and glow a soft blue colour...there are not many in this area as they are mostly in the Asheville forests so I was super excited to see them.
