April 25 - Two more days on the road...
Enjoyed a quiet night in Kaycee Wyoming. Before we left I just had to show George the RV campsite office which was a very impressive quilt shop! Sew Ewe!
The owner and her husband, newly retired, bought this property and her passion is quilting... and what a labour of love it is. They spent several months renovating the inside and have many ideas and dreams planned for the property as well as the RV Park and cabins.
Left fairly early on our way to North Platte Nebraska, fairly flat, lots of wide open spaces..hours and hours of driving through farm land..scrub... and more farm land...lots of cows, miles and miles of brown cows, then black cows then white cows..it's never ending.
Some may say hours and hours of driving through this would be boring...but it's all interesting and we talk and imagine what people do living out here, and what we see and think it and speculate ...and then sometimes we just Google it...OMG Google has been an amazing textbook on this trip!
Love this Police station!! Might be the smallest one we have ever seen. These are pretty rural farm towns in the middle of nowhere!
Lu is adjusting well to the traveling lifestyle.....we think she's a keeper💕
Crossed into Kansas on April 26, not much different landscape, more rolling hills, more trees and way more wind! Apparently it's quite windy for 7.2 months of the year... and then windy the rest...today. about 32 km an hour winds..
Talked to Nicole on the phone and told her we were about in the middle of the USA, and about an hour later...Boom! Middle of the USA!
Lu is really good at telling me when she wants to change seats..she stares at me ...gives me some vocal prompting ever so nicely and then she joins me in the front seat...still strapped in with her seat belt of course because we love her dearly💓
We found another Passport American site...$7.00 a night!
It's in the middle of Kansas at a little lake in Marion County. Pulled in and weren't sure where to park so a couple of super friendly people, Jim and Jan, showed us where to park and filled us in about the area.
Many people say Americans are arrogant people but we have only met the nicest people along the way. Not only on this trip but every other trip in the USA. We ❤ being here!
Went for a walk and OMG, we want this place!! It has 2 screened in large deck areas, right on the water, so peaceful!
Well we left home Friday after work and now its Tuesday and we are almost where we want to be to start chilaxing and spending multiple days between moves.
