May 6 -Another sweet day in New Orleans!

We are enjoying another day in New Orleans. Lu gets to have another day playing with some American Friends.

Started our morning by seeing this guy washing windows!!! Where is he you ask???

Way up....second floor from the TOP.....on a rope!!! How messed up is that!
Walked around portions of the Warehouse District and the Arts & Museum District. There is so much to see and enjoy here that we never have enough time to take in any of the Museums, we just enjoy them from the outside....maybe a rainy day activity for another time...


Love the couryards and little spaces between the old buildings......Jasmine is growing everywhere here. The scent is amazingly sweet!



All that walking makes a guy thirsty....$1.00 🍺  Now that's our kinda price! Deep fried catfish platter and a couple of cold ones...yum yum.

One way to keep people from sleeping in your doorway....
Thought we would walk down Bourbon Street on our way to Frenchman Street.... when we heard a familiar sound!!! It's the Daywalkers!! OMG!! We saw them in 2013 and 2018 and we were both so hoping to see them again....we were skeptical but neither of us would say out loud how disappointed we would have been if we missed them....

They are an alternative roots band playing a blend of Country, Cajun, Zydeco and Louisiana music. Love watching Alex MacDonald on the washboard! Could watch him for hours on that thing!

George took it one step further and when they were on a break and Alex was in the courtyard, George went up and introduced himself. Turns out in around 2010 they were in Salmon Arm for the Roots and Blues Festival! 


We would have stayed all day if it not for some more walking and enjoying the rest of New Orleans. 

Off to see Frenchman Street....the place comes alive with Jazz and other music all night long. Time and the love of Lu just won't make that happen for us so we will enjoy it for what it is in the sunshine.
Most vehicles here are all scraped up, bangs and dents all over and the Police vehicles  are no exception...
Another weird thing we noticed was next to nobody honks their horns? I mean the traffic is crazy, the roads are even crazier but it's unusually and wonderfully quiet.

Stopped back at the Krazy Korner for another beer and music from the Daywalkers.....


and one last order of  beneighs for the walk. They are so good, deep fried bread covered in icing sugar....it was a little breezy and by the time we got back to the truck I was lightly dusted in icing sugar myself from head to toe!!

Picked up Lu from her daycare and had a walk around some neighborhoods in the Garden District. 

The cemeteries were closed so only saw from the outside....which is exactly where we like to view them 🙂

Love the ferns and moss making their homes in the walls of the cemetery. 

Not an even surface to walk on anywhere...




This ol guy would have many stories to tell...

Left South Dakota this morning, through a part of Wyoming and into Montana. The scenery in this area is really gorgeous.  But before long the weather changed...storms up ahead and apparently through the night in Bozeman. Long time coming....

 It's been a very very long 2 years waiting...patiently waiting.....for things to return to normal... We were set to embark on this same holiday in March 2020 when Covid changed everything for everyone. Now 2 years later, our travel furbaby has changed. We lost our beloved Gracie before we could enjoy another big trip with her.  She was an amazing traveller and we were so fortunate to have been able to make many memories with her over the 14 years of RV adventures! We loved every minute of it and miss her dearly. And then along came Lucy Lu. Oh the adventures she will have!

June 10 - Lazy day

Today was a lazy day. As no cell service and wifi at the campground, I needed some down time to book some stuff. Found a great dog park and Lu made a new little friend... Like little....8 week old little pitti.... They had a great time and then back into town. Just like most towns outside of a National Park...there's a bear thing going on. We didn't stay long....little walking...late lunch and back to the trailer. George hitting the enormous candy store....$22.00 later.....omg Second night of firefly watching was even better than the first. We saw some Blue Ghost fireflies....the males stay lit for up to a minute and glow a soft blue colour...there are not many in this area as they are mostly in the Asheville forests so I was super excited to see them.
