Back on the road!
On the road again. To date, we have been through Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and now in Louisiana. Left Hot Springs Arkansas today...not a day too soon! Started out a bit wet this morning but now they are on Tornado watch!
Still seeing so many poor armadillos....have yet to see a live one 😢
Fairly short drive today, only about 6 ish hours. This is one of Lu's travel positions! She has been doing so great!
We are noticing less forest and more open spaces now. The roads have not been busy at all. Nice mix of highways and rural roads. This part of the country they love their lawns....acres and acres of neatly mowed land. Sometimes the homes themselves are small and very unassuming, but the lawns are out of this world!
Dollar stores are like belly buttons down here!
Tonight we got a $15.00 RVsite at a casino through Passport America! Even a great outdoor pool which i hope to use in the morning.
The sites are so nice and large! The park is enormous as well as about 25 cabins.
Lu finally able to get out for some play time!
The casino is pretty impressive, restaurants, stores, pool and kids zone area and gators!
Took Lu fur a walk tonight and met a very interesting couple. Of course they have a dog, so that's how we met.
Learned a few new words for down south....River rats are people who live near the river...a certain type of Cajun people are called Coon-ass and that's what the guy said he was...took a bit to be a able to understand him. She was easier to understand but she was only a bit Coon-ass.
Found out that even down here the 3 year old from San Jose who says "Linda, listen" is a thing, she's a teacher and she uses it all the time, the kids love it!
Also found out people fish in the ditch for crawfish.........or better known as mud bugs! If you are a true southern you can eat 4 or 5 pounds of crawfish in a sitting!
Found out we need to go to Waffle House and pass on the Sonic Drive thru.
Cheers!
