May 16 - Sarasoto and Lido Key



Another sunny day! The first days in Florida we searched for the sunshine...now we are selective and try to find shade when we can, always wear hats, choose the shady path but still enjoy the Florida weather.

Found a nice walking path to enjoy the morning.


Made our way to Lido Key. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches here but the downtown is super dog friendly 💓 Dog bowls in front of most stores and restaurants and they were welcome just about everywhere!


This little puppy was only 10 weeks but let Lu know this was her Momma's store!!

Love this Kindness  Garden!


Off to Sarasota waterfront...this statue "Unconditional Surrender" is something we look for and is just Sarasota to us...

The Southern Magnolias are just beautiful!

This boat on the right....was unbelievable...taller than the restaurant....a private yacht...wonder if the owner of the yacht was also the owner of the McLaren parked in the valet.....oh so much money here!

Enjoyed a margarita and appie with Lu at the Pier....another dog friendly restaurant

Left South Dakota this morning, through a part of Wyoming and into Montana. The scenery in this area is really gorgeous.  But before long the weather changed...storms up ahead and apparently through the night in Bozeman. Free night at the Walmart with about another 30  or so RV/camper vans......hoping for a quiet night...cold here tonight....used the furnace for the first time in a very long time on this trip...brrrr

Long time coming....

 It's been a very very long 2 years waiting...patiently waiting.....for things to return to normal... We were set to embark on this same holiday in March 2020 when Covid changed everything for everyone. Now 2 years later, our travel furbaby has changed. We lost our beloved Gracie before we could enjoy another big trip with her.  She was an amazing traveller and we were so fortunate to have been able to make many memories with her over the 14 years of RV adventures! We loved every minute of it and miss her dearly. And then along came Lucy Lu. Oh the adventures she will have!

June 10 - Lazy day

Today was a lazy day. As no cell service and wifi at the campground, I needed some down time to book some stuff. Found a great dog park and Lu made a new little friend... Like little....8 week old little pitti.... They had a great time and then back into town. Just like most towns outside of a National Park...there's a bear thing going on. We didn't stay long....little walking...late lunch and back to the trailer. George hitting the enormous candy store....$22.00 later.....omg Second night of firefly watching was even better than the first. We saw some Blue Ghost fireflies....the males stay lit for up to a minute and glow a soft blue colour...there are not many in this area as they are mostly in the Asheville forests so I was super excited to see them.
