May 6 - New Orleans to Pensacola Florida!

We got a much needed free truck and trailer wash leaving New Orleans....lovebugs are all off the trailer and truck now!!
We timed that pretty well by getting out of New Orleans just as the weather was turning.

Another thing we did see that was pretty cool was this storm-flood wall. The walls are 23 feet high and were built in the Harvey parish area that we were staying in as it's prone to flooding from storm surges from the frequent hurricanes. Pretty impressive.

George finally got his breakfast at Waffle House! Pretty darn good but the entertaining part was that the kitchen area is right in the main dining area so you get to see everything going on! The girls worked their butts off in there!

Feet finally hit some nice sand outside of Biloxi Mississippi, Lu was a little unsure of it!
It's quite interesting to re-see some of these areas that we saw in 2013 and 2018 and see the slow rebuilding after Katrina in 2005 and any subsequent storms.

There are still so many vacant lots where homes were destroyed but now all the new places you see built are all like this.
About 6 hours driving today with many stops along the way.
Finally crossed the border into Florida exactly 2 minutes short of  14 days since I clocked out at work! 4:16 pm....made it to our beloved Florida.

Staying at Fort Pickens National Park for 3 nights!

Cheers from Florida 💗
