June 12 - Nashville...a day to remember

We had no real expectations or plans for Nashville other than we had 2 full days to check it out.

I had no idea when I booked our site that we were coming in during CMA Fest 2022. It had been cancelled the two previous years (like most things) so they were planning a big one.

It was pretty hot...36 degrees.....

It's a 4 day party in downtown Nashville. There are nightly concerts in the Nissan Stadium  with 6-8 performing for the crowds each night. Big names like Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Jason Aldean, Lady A, Kelsea Ballerini......and the list goes on and on and on...

Dog daycare was impossible to find here so we used "Rover " for the first time. We were super happy with the girl we found and knew Lu was going to have a great day.

Found a great place to park with a 15 minute walk to the action with sights along the way...

And then from a distance you could start to tell from the music that you were getting closer.

In addition to evening concerts at the Nissan Stadium there were stages all over town featuring Country performers. The streets were blocked off, the fans were out and it was alive with Country Music Fans...all ages were out enjoying the day.

From the pedestrian bridge you could take in two different stages.

The downtown was pretty impressive! There were so many bars and restaurants with rooftops seating!!!

First stop for some relief from the heat was Kid Rocks Bar....great music...cold beer...what more can you ask for!

This was the view of Kid Rocks Bar  from Luke Bryans rooftop patio!!! And music on almost every floor!

Our favorite rooftop bar was Luke Bryans which was attached to Jason Aldeans bar. You just walk from floor to floor stopping and enjoying whatever music you like along the way...so cool!

The view from Luke's place was the best!!!

From Luke's rooftop you could see the long long long lineup to get into Blake Shelton's Ol Red....maybe tomorrow....

The live music on the ground floor of Luke's bar. She had an amazing voice!

Not sure if this fellow was in costume or if this was just his style...but he's feeling his country!!!

Walking down by the river we noticed this whole long row of buildings with the windows blown out...we were reminded by a passerby that it was the work of the RV Bomber.....he drove an RV loaded with explosives in the early hours of Dec 25, 2020 into the area and had a broadcasted 15 minute warning of what was about to occur.. .the only person who died was the bomber....8 injured ......the street partially opened a year later but much needs to be done to rebuild it...

A small but significant reminder....

As the final day of CMA Fest came to a close, it was time to walk back to the truck...still more music along the way.....our legs were tired...

Love these lights!!!

And much to my surprise....fireflies still in Nashville...we are in the city...lots of light pollution....but...they are still here๐Ÿ’—
