June 13 - HOT HOT HOT Nashville

Well, we woke at 8:00 to 25 degrees.  I opened the trailer door to a blast of heat....It's going to be a a scorcher....expected to be about 38 degrees...

Luckily we were able to have Lu in daycare again...there was no way we could have gone anywhere in this heat with her...so cute, we got regular updates.....she was helping Ross at work...

Drove by the Nashville Veterans Cemetery...very impactful when you see the hills and hills of grave markers...64.5 acres.......

Off to be a tourist.....there are murals all over. This one is just on the side of a hair salon.

Tennessee State Capital Building in the distance. We were in a large memorial park...tried to walk in the shade as much as we could.

At first I thought these were lights but they were actually bell towers that played a tune every hour.

What we did find out was that Monday in Nashville is like Sunday elsewhere.....many things closed today but we enjoyed things from the outside instead.

This is called the Parthenon, originally constructed for the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Expo.....closed today...

Drove through Music Row...by RCA Studio B and before we knew it the day was coming to an end so thought we would head back downtown to see if we could get into Blake Shelton's Ol Red....two private tour busses parked out front....closed for private event....dang

It was still pretty busy downtown, they were still cleaning up from the crazy weekend  but enjoyed a cold beer or two in a few music bars ...

I have never seen a single bathroom with this much graffiti....on the walls...the ceiling.....everywhere!!!

Back to the RV...little laundry....it was sooooo hot....38 degrees ....no AC in the laundry room....swear it was way hotter....these are the temperatures that could make people go squirrelly!

We both agree we would come back to Nashville, spend more time here, book some music shows etc...a favorite place for both of us.

And when it cooled off a bit...the fireflies still came out to play!!!
