June 14 - heading North West...
Woke up to 25 degrees at 7:00...another scorcher. Got an early start of 8:30 am......early for us these days....8 hour drive today. So hot here the freezer is having a hard time keeping the banana popsicles frozen!!
We only stopped when necessary for fuel and pit stops...too hot to do much else other than drive. Decided with the heat and the need to put some miles behind us we took the interstate highways most of the way today. Not our favorite thing to do but now and again it has to be done. Hoping to give us a bit more time further north where it will hopefully be a bit cooler.
Landscape has changed back to farmland now.
Drove through St Louis, big city, lots of traffic, happy to make it through before rush hour traffic started.
Today we left Tennessee, drove through the tip of Kentucky, into Illinois and then landed in Bowling Green Missouri... and this is what Lu did....she's a great little traveller.
Got into the $20 a night Passport America site ( thank gosh ...we spent enough in Nashville that we needed a cheap night).
The A/C is working overtime....got here at 5:00 and the A/C finally cooled the RV and turned off at 10:30 pm....and by 10:35....it was back on....
And to my great surprise...fireflies 💓Now that I have seen them in so many different places I am really starting to see the different blink patterns and colours of the different species of fireflies.
I will never get tired of seeing them....fingers crossed wherever we end up tomorrow night... they will be there...
