June 3 - Savannah Georgia
Another hot muggy day...33 degrees...but we hear it will be changing soon so off to Savannah for the day.
Forsyth Park is a 30 acre green space in the heart of town giving us some nice shade from the sun. Then after the park ends you get to enjoy 22 squares (small parks) that take you closer to the waterfront.
And fountains along the way...
There are so many beautiful old mansions and rowhouses...
It was pretty hot walking so we hugged the shady side of the streets as much as we could.
And went in a few stores to cool off...Lu waiting to see start treat she is about to get.
Love the cobblestone roads....thankfully we are sure-footed because nothing is even here...
War memorial because they are very patriotic here and almost everywhere in the USA.
Made our way to the waterfront area. Everything is so old here but since we were here last they have "renewed" a large waterfront area called " Plant Riverside District" with boutiques, waterfront restaurants and a luxury JW Marriott hotel....rooms starting at $598 plus all the taxes for a total of $719.03 ....a night !!!🤤
This little boy and his grandmother took turns dancing in the water...so cute!!!
And to beat the heat...there is only one thing to do! And also here is where a guy looked at Lu and said...."that is the most beautiful dog in the world" ...we laughed and said "all scruff and underbite and all" ...and that's what he and his wife loved about her...nothing perfect...nothing in place...just a life loving quirky mutt ❤
