June 4 - Hilton Head Island and Bluffton
So the weather was supposed to be "indifferent" not super bad...just indifferent....
Timing is everything. Much of the areas we enjoyed just 2 weeks ago are under storm watch...experiencing the start of hurricane season with torrential rain and flash floods...
So today off to Hilton Head Island to check things out. Only about an hours drive from our campsite. Love the old mossy oak trees joining their branches to make a tunnel over the roadway...
Lots of intercoastal waterways and narrow zig-zagging arms of water going every which way....
Well....the first area we went to was into Sea Pines ...but found out the most odd rule... you cannot enter the area with a trailer, boat trailer, utility trailer or a kayak or floatation device on your vehicle......so it was over before it began as we have the kayaks on the truck...
So we decided this was not the island for us as all the other areas are resort hotel after resort hotel, almost no parking and had not even seen a glimpse of a beach.
So we saw the little town on the way in, Bluffton, that looked very interesting.
It seemed really small at first but there were great little parks, streets and streets of little boutique stores and galleries...
This big beautiful oak tree had the most amazing swing that I just could not pass by...
So cute!
Then the bridge back to Savannah for another visit....
Love the Plant Riverside District so decided to go back. Had a bite to eat and some fluid and enjoyed watching all the activity on the water..
Then the rain came so figured it was time to go back home...home to the RV...
Sometimes you can see the most unusual people along the way... this gas station was one of those places...10 minutes waiting for George to get fuel was ....rather interesting......panhandlers...near miss accidents....and this guy...he was the near miss accident guy...I did lock the doors just in case....
🥴
