June 6 - Downtown Asheville

The temperatures here are refreshing....it cooled down last night to about 14 degrees...first time in a long time that the air conditioner was turned off and windows opened to let the breeze in through the night...

We spent the day tripping around Asheville. Lu is in Doggy Daycare today so we are on our own.

There are many large old buildings with individual little boutique stores and eateries..


Our first church we have been in on this trip...we got invited in so ..why not!



Very cool area, we mostly window shopped....browsed around...enjoyed the cool old buildings...


We saw quite a few old buildings converted into "Art walks" where there were individual artist displays/sales....love this guy!!!!



A bike made out of wood....$60,000.00!!!


Then back out on the streets!!




Asheville is Beer Capital USA...and by 2:00...still no beer in our bellies. Oddly enough many don't open until 3:00 or even 4:00 right now...and many only have beer and no food so as we needed food badly we went to a Mexican Restaurant that a friend recommended...Papa's and Beer!!....yummy! Awesome food, excellent service...and great margarittas and so reasonably priced!!   Thanks Alli😁



Pup update from the Daycare!!! So cute!!

I really wanted to have a drink on one of the rooftop bars to see the views.....and  most didn't open until 5:00 but I found just one that opened at 4:00.....what amazing views!   .... "I see a fall colours tour down the Blue Ridge Parkway...one day soon...




And from this rooftop patio we saw another place Alli  recommended ..The Omni Grove Park Inn. Built in 1913, 10 US presidents and countless "special people" from the world of art, entertainment and sports have stayed here!

The pics don't do it justice...it was amazing....i think it was my picture taking  skills...








I could just imagine sitting around this amazing firepit rocking on these rocking  chairs...enjoying the amazing views...having drinks with friends....awe...

And as the skies darken....I will be off searching for fireflies....💓

June 10 - Lazy day

Today was a lazy day. As no cell service and wifi at the campground, I needed some down time to book some stuff. Found a great dog park and Lu made a new little friend... Like little....8 week old little pitti.... They had a great time and then back into town. Just like most towns outside of a National Park...there's a bear thing going on. We didn't stay long....little walking...late lunch and back to the trailer. George hitting the enormous candy store....$22.00 later.....omg Second night of firefly watching was even better than the first. We saw some Blue Ghost fireflies....the males stay lit for up to a minute and glow a soft blue colour...there are not many in this area as they are mostly in the Asheville forests so I was super excited to see them. June 5 - Savannah to Asheville, North Carolina

This was an early start for us, on the road by 9:00!!! Left Georgia... then through South Carolina and ended up in Asheville North Carolina. After several several weeks we are finally seeing rolling hills and trees.... the palm trees and beaches are now gone... But with the loss of the sand between by toes....comes fireflies...George was outside and I heard those amazing words..."Linda....guess what I just saw".... One lonely magical amazing very bright firefly....🥲
