May 30 - Memorial Day

Lu is off to Daycare today....right next door to the RV Park, can't get much more convenient than that. It's certainly easier for us and to be honest....she enjoys her day more playing with fur buddies instead of touring around....at least that's what we think she thinks...🤔 

St Augustine is a beautiful city! Close to the water, almost everything to see is in downtown and the parking is great, washrooms everywhere, little restaurants and bars and eateries everywhere you look. It's the oldest continually-occupied city in the USA!

There have been many museums, and tours and tourist places to visit on this trip.....but we are lucky we are both pretty similar in our travel styles...we love to walk, bike, kayak and explore...love to wander, and feel, and see and listen and just "be" .......

This is Castillo de San Marcos, a fortress which began construction in 1672 and completed in 1695.

Lots of Flags out but pretty low key, not like 4th of July is down here.



This guy was enormous and oddly beautiful...


This is the entrance to Flagler College which is in the old Ponce de Leon Hotel built in 1888. Impressive!



I love this fountain!!


There was one young girl on a ladder who seemed to be polishing the woodwork....a lifetime job it would seem!

I love these footsteps entering the oldest public space in the USA.....

Then off to listen to some music in this cool place under a 300 year old oak tree...magical!

Funny so after a while George says .......This guy was singing when we came in, wasn't he??  Well as we were listening to the him play Eric Clapton "Wonderful Tonight"...we realized he had never been singing...we were hearing our own minds singing the words to the songs...the magical power of 🎶.




Then before we knew it ...we were at another little venue listening to some  more artists...💓





Another nice day in such an ol' historic city!

Left South Dakota this morning, through a part of Wyoming and into Montana. The scenery in this area is really gorgeous.  But before long the weather changed...storms up ahead and apparently through the night in Bozeman. Free night at the Walmart with about another 30  or so RV/camper vans......hoping for a quiet night...cold here tonight....used the furnace for the first time in a very long time on this trip...brrrr

Long time coming....

 It's been a very very long 2 years waiting...patiently waiting.....for things to return to normal... We were set to embark on this same holiday in March 2020 when Covid changed everything for everyone. Now 2 years later, our travel furbaby has changed. We lost our beloved Gracie before we could enjoy another big trip with her.  She was an amazing traveller and we were so fortunate to have been able to make many memories with her over the 14 years of RV adventures! We loved every minute of it and miss her dearly. And then along came Lucy Lu. Oh the adventures she will have!

June 10 - Lazy day

Today was a lazy day. As no cell service and wifi at the campground, I needed some down time to book some stuff. Found a great dog park and Lu made a new little friend... Like little....8 week old little pitti.... They had a great time and then back into town. Just like most towns outside of a National Park...there's a bear thing going on. We didn't stay long....little walking...late lunch and back to the trailer. George hitting the enormous candy store....$22.00 later.....omg Second night of firefly watching was even better than the first. We saw some Blue Ghost fireflies....the males stay lit for up to a minute and glow a soft blue colour...there are not many in this area as they are mostly in the Asheville forests so I was super excited to see them.
